Great wines, great food…

Le Chardon’s bar and restaurant is reminiscent of a French bistro cafe you would find anywhere in provincial France.  Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served every day, bar Tuesday and the menus vary with the seasons and local produce availability.

Le Chardon has become a favourite  for many of the locals and visitors alike dropping by for a drink or to pass a convivial evening around a table. The menu changes regularly depending on the season. A speciality are the themed evenings. Every month we visit a different country starting with Scotland in January (Burn’s Night). Other cuisines include India, Greece, Tex-Mex, Portugal, not forgetting our traditional barbecues in summer. The year is always rounded off with a Carol Concert with mulled wine, mince pies followed by supper.

As you can imagine, being in the centre of Burgundy, our wine list is extensive, incorporating the best of the local wines and supplemented by selected wines from neighbouring Beaujolais and the Côtes de Rhone.

Summer evenings are best enjoyed in front courtyard where you can sit under shady umbrellas enjoying a glass or two watching the world the go by. In winter you can feel the glowing warmth from the wood-burner indoors.

Don’t be surprised if one our local ‘vignerons’ or winemakers drops by and ask you to try one of his wines.
